The Body Shop Aloe Calming Cleansing Foam| Review

The Body Shop Aloe Calming Cleansing Foam| Review

As I reach the last bits of foam from this cleansing product I thought of letting you guys know how the journey has been.

I was looking for a face cleanser that would be moisturizing and also calm my skin (dry skin issues ya know). I came across this one from The Body Shop and decided to give it a try.
I knew this wasn’t necessarily going to moisturize my face but I want something that didn’t dry my face at least.
To brief up this review I would say that this product delivers what it promises and that is always a nice thing.
I love when face skin care product are fragrance -free because that means less chances of it irritating my skin thereby making breakouts happen and then also frees us from month-long waiting sessions.

Another phrase that makes me sigh with relief on a skin care product is when they are “alcohol-free” because skin. Not an expert on this but I just know its horrible for my skin so anyone interested please feel free to spend hours on google. You’re welcome! 🙂

The product has The Body Shop signature cleansing foam packaging which super nice. Its plastic bottle with the most ideal pump. The liquid magically transforms into foam somewhere between its journey from the bottle to mouth of the pump. It’s just super easy to use.

I feel this cleanser would suit any skin type.It says it’s “formulated for sensitive skin” and I can see that. Its so calming to the skin and it feels like some of those products for babies, so soothing. It does cool the skin thanks to all that Aloe in there.

This is a cleanser I would use when I want to just soothe and calm my skin and pamper it with a lot of care but not really looking for anything extravagant. However right now I am looking for my face wash to moisturize thus my newest haul. Check my latest haul HERE.

A Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Haul

A Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Haul

The hottest and most dry season of the year has arrived along with the festivities and holidays. The scorching sun is drinking up my skin and there’s so much sales and offers going around where shopping is concerned. Everyones’ shopping, the atmosphere gets to you( definitely got to me :P).

So impromptu I decided to get some essentials I have been eyeing for a while from The Body Shop.

I had been wondering about The Body Shop Vitamin E line for a while now. I’ve always used their skin care line and I’ve tried most of the lines but never really fell in love with any for my dry skin. A few people told me to give the vitamin E ones a try once again. Since all the revamping and look that’s happened to the brand itself I thought why not.

I am currently using their cleansing foam from the ‘Aloe Vera’ line but I feel need more moisturizing. Therefore I picked up the ‘Vitamin E Gentle Face Wash. I am kinda excited for this one. My skin needs some moisture so bad.

Then I picked up the ‘Vitamin E Hydrating Toner’ too. I’ve never used a toner although everyone time and again advised I should. I always thought it might dry out my skin. However I finally decided to have a go and the ‘hydrating’ in product name definitely helped make the purchase much easier.

Finally when I saw the ‘Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet’ I was happy dancing (in my mind of course! pfft). I’ve been wanting an aqua based moisturizer desperately and this one feels really cooling on the skin.

They also gave me a freebie, this deluxe size ‘Frosted  Cranberry Shower Gel’ with my goodies. I always love getting these tiny ones so you can try out a fragrance for a short while without being bored.

There was a 15% off offer(who’s complaing!? not me! :D)  since I got 3 products so anyone interested living in Sri Lanka can go take a look. 🙂

Do you have any favorite line from The Body Shop? Are you looking to buy any of above mentioned products? Do you already own any of them? Do you like them? Do you think they do a good job moisturizing? Let me know in the comments below! 😀

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend! Xx

What’s in my honeymoon (travel) beauty bag!

What’s in my honeymoon (travel) beauty bag!

If you’ve been following me on my Instagram page you’d be aware that I just got back from my honeymoon, if you don’t follow me yet you should 😉

Anyways, one of the toughest decisions I had to make while packing was choosing the beauty products I need to take with me. Especially since it was my honeymoon I for probably the first time ever gave soo much importance to my beauty bag. With all the brain twisting decisions I was making in regards to foundations, lotions and other important bottles of wonder I thought why don’t I share it you amazing people so in case you’re having two thoughts about packing or leaving back something this might help. Also you guys give me some amazing ideas, feedback and advice that I can always use the next time I travel.

1. Base
I usually carry my Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere foundation when I travel. It’s my everyday foundation with very light coverage. It comes in a perfect size for travel and is not a glass bottle so I don’t have the fear of it breaking.
I also carry the Chanel Vitalumiere in compact which is a substitute when I don’t want even the lightest layer of liquid foundation on my skin.
I don’t personally prefer a heavy face base of makeup when I travel since I strongly believe letting the skin breathe some fresh never hurt.

2. Eyeliner
I like winging everything in life and I wing my eyes with ease with my Benefit they’re Real push-up liner. It’s waterproof and easy to use so I carry it while I travel.
For the waterline I prefer something with the right amount of pigmentation. However the only one I had at home was my Marc Jacobs Highliner gel crayon, everything else I had run out of so I grabbed it. I’m looking to write a full review on this one soon.

3. Mascara
My bestie always told me to wear some mascara and flutter my eyelashes and how could I not take that valuable piece of advice as I pack for my honeymoon. I chose my Estée Lauder Sumptous Infinite mascara. It gives me the right amount of lash without having to mix it with another one.

4. Eyeshadow
While traveling a good matte natural shadow palette is ideal. I would usually opt for my Too Faced Matte Natural palette however I chose the Dior in sample size this time since it’s so much smaller and has all matte neutral shades.

5.Beauty Blender
This phenomenon known to mankind is what I swear by and I never go anywhere without one. Read my full review on the BeautyBlender HERE.

6. Blush
I obviously took my most beloved blush of all time with me. You can have a look at my review on the MAC Blush in Pinch O’ Peach HERE.

7. Highlighter
Because it’s important to highlight everything important so I could not leave back this limited edition highlighter from NARS.

8. Lipstick
I carried a few different lipsticks so I can keep changing my look everyday.

9. The jump from summer to fall/winter weather never did good to my skin ever despite my favorite season being fall. I carried this travel size body lotion from The Body Shop in Sakura. Its one of the most important products you need to carry with you whenever you fly.

10. I believe if  there’s no lip balm in your handbag at any given time of the day, you are doing life wrong. So how can I not take one with me on the most important holiday of my life. With no one to compete it’s always my Maybelline Baby lips. 🙂

What do you carry when you travel in your beauty bag? Let me know in the comments section below.

Happy Wednesday!

Review: Body Shop Eye Definer in Brilliant Blue

Review: Body Shop Eye Definer in Brilliant Blue

IMG_0072

I am a huge fan of the color blue and it’s no big secret. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it but I like Body Shop’s skin care but am not a huge fan of their makeup. I used to use their compact powder and eye makeup as a teenager but I now know better and I’ve moved past except I just haven’t been able to take this eye liner pencil off my stash.
My first one of this pencil had fallen inside my parents vehicle and gone into oblivion so I had replaced this one a few years back.
It isn’t the best eye liner out there but I haven’t found any other company that makes this gorgeous shade of blue metal. The color is to die for.IMG_0074
Apart from being the prettiest shade of blue liner ever it is also highly pigmented and glides so smoothly which is huge plus and so not like my Dior eyeliner.I mean no one wants to be scrapping through the delicate skin around the eye right.

SWATCH

Left; One streak , Right; A few streaks

It is just a regular liner pencil with no fancy or fuss attached to it so I don’t believe it right to be holding high standards for it.
My only problem with it is that it creases big time and the longevity of the liner is very low because of that. But now we have all figured out how to prevent that thanks to all the advancement in the makeup science. 😉
