The Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette| Review

The Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette| Review

Makeup is an addiction that I never thought I’d have. But then here I am sharing my thoughts on another new palette. Like always this post is long due and so are all those sitting in my draft box waiting to be edited.

I have eyed the Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette ever since I saw the first swatches out on social media. I marked the date and secured my palette in the early hours of its pre-launch. It is the first ever palette I pre-ordered and I am glad I did.

The packaging is the exact design as her previous palette with BH Cosmetics and the design itself is pretty cool with the white and grey marble print. This is a bigger palette than the earlier one and includes some shades from the old palette and a few new shades. This diversity kind of interested me because I didn’t buy her previous palette.

To be honest, I don’t want to bore you all and myself with the not so important details. Also there’s so many reviews out there stating the obvious.

This is how the inside of the palette looks like:

I think the palette is really pretty and has nice vary of shades. My first thought on top of my head when I held open the palette was that I can totally create 4 different looks at least from this palette without putting much thought. Versatility is a  pretty cool to have in a palette.

The palette consists of 21 eyeshadows and highlighters. There are 11 original shades(from her previous palette) and 10 new shadows and highlighters.

Moreover, I love how the shades itself are complimentary to a very wide range of skin tones. Personally, I a medium skin toned woman find it super hard to find an entire palette that can complement my skin tone however this one was a nice difference from the usual.

The eyeshadow are super buttery, I really don’t know how she does it especially the shimmer shadows are a treat to swatch. They are also extremely pigmented and the color payoff is amazing given the price. The staying power is beyond amazing.

This is priced at $22.50 (exc. shipping) and can be purchased from the BH Cosmetics website. I preordered it for $19.50 (exc. shipping).

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure | A Review

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure | A Review

I finally feel ready to review my face primer that I have been using for close to an year now. Primer unlike most other makeup products (atleast for me) is soemthing that I neeed to try out for a long period of time in order to truly understand how it works on my skin. I wanted this review to be as thorough and as deatiled as possible therefore I waited all this while to do this.

The primer in question is ,as the title suggests, the Primed & Poreless Pure by Too Faced. It was a highly spoken about primer at the time I purchased this especially in regard to minimizing pores. My real need for primer was at that point to minimize pores and this was one of the few primers that were being raved about most people.

img_6507
I have a love-hate relationship with this product so keep reading to find out all about that. 😀

To start off, lets talk packaging. I love the box it comes in and like all Too Faced products this too has a vintage yet modern oxymoron-ish appeal to it which speaks right to me. The white and gold combo is just so pretty. It comes in a white tube that you squish for the product to come out. It’s easy to use and that’s really important.

The texture of the product itself is very thick, gooey and rubbery( I really can’t think of any sophisticated terms to describe that at the moment). I believe this like most pores minimizing primers is silicon-based and thus the texture.img_6508

The product is significantly thick in texture therefore goes on as a transparent yet apparent layer on the skin.img_6510

It does make my pores appear less significant and also help with smooth application of my makeup. It is a great base and helps keep my makeup on for hours ( I have gone a good 6-9 hours without a budge).

I do not use it all over my face and limit it just to areas that I feel need it which is usually my T-zone.

The product promises to do these:img_6513

At the time I purchased this I hadn’t realised my skin had made a shift from normal-combination to dry however this primer worked just fine for me. The silicon-y feel of the product does not dry out my skin and make it flaky, also my T zone is not as dry as the rest of the face which perhaps might be the case.

My only problem with this product and which makes me not want to use it is the SMELL. I don’t know if it’s the silicone or one of the other gazillion complicated chemical names listed on the ingredients but it has a strong, chemical, ewww-ey smell that I really can’t stand. It does die out once I get the rest of my makeup on but I wish that smell was not there. It really bothers me but otherwise it works fine for me which is why I keep going back to it despite the stench.

It is priced at $30 if any one is interested.

Have you tried this primer? what do you think of it? Have you tried the other Too faced primer(the pink one) ? What is your favorite primer?

Thank you for reading! Xx

Benefit they’re Real Eye-makeup Remover| Review

Benefit they’re Real Eye-makeup Remover| Review

I have been making it a point to review all the products from my recent hauls which I usually procrastinate and take ages to do. With this post reviews on all the products from my Mini Benefit Cosmetics haul will be complete so yay on that. 😀

The eye makeup remover was not something that was on my wish list or had heard of even. It came it the offer pack I decided to buy and it was just that extra thing I got along with the rest of what I really wanted. I hardly had any expectation so I was all prepared to not liking it and being perfectly fine with that. Except that didn’t happen. This was surprisingly a good product especially in combination with the two famous ‘they’re Real’ products; the push-up liner and the mascara.IMG_2453 Read more

A Review: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden

A Review: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden

I got a 2 week sample of each of the UD eyeshadow primer when I had ordered my Naked palette and I was thrilled because I’ve been wanting to get the eyeshadow primer from UD but just didn’t know which one would be the best to get. I just have only tried the one of it which I thought I should review. I make a conscious decision not to review any product until I’ve used it enough and more times so that way I can speak of my opinion on the product in a better and truer sense. 🙂

So today I’m reviewing the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.

This is a nude matte version of the primer that gives a base color (suiting most if not all skin tones) and doing what  an eye primer needs to do i.e. hold them shades in place 🙂

Review (Rave) On The Beauty Blender!

Review (Rave) On The Beauty Blender!

photo 4Let me be absolutely honest and tell you this genius in pink was one pleasant surprise despite how much its been hyped and raved about. I honestly didn’t think it was as good as it is. I would always but foundation brushes that are raved about but end up not liking it and I was quite wary of what I would find when I placed my order for this.I had so much pre conceived notions about it that were kicked up into oblivion. Now I can’t explain how happy I am that I placed an order for this. I LOVE THE BEAUTY BLENDER!!  In fact I cant remember the last time I’ve felt this excited and happy about a product. Read more

A Review: Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Collection (Travel Exclusive)

A Review: Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Collection (Travel Exclusive)

I am not a lipgloss person. But then on a day when I want to really go out there and dress up I would dab some over my lipstick just to add some shine and seal the color for the next couple of hours.

The prime reason I run away from gloss is because of their sticky nature. I hate having that feeling where you can’t talk properly cuz your gloss is glueing your lips together. Am I the only one this happens to? -_-

Anyways this travel exclusive Pure Color Gloss Collection from Estee Lauder was one of the many products I’ve picked up while travelling. And I am really very happy I did bring this one home unlike most of the other products I have in the past (*sigh*). This is really a must have in my opinion.

A Review: Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Eyeliner

This post is a tribute to my first ever liquid eyeliner. I was always wary of buying a liquid eyeliner because I believed I would never be able to use it without making a mess. But something got me to buy the ‘Maybelline eye studio hyper glossy liquid eyeliner’ last year and thanks to a wonderful friend learnt how the basics of using it. After a beautiful journey over a year we parted ways as the glossy had to move on to the empty life in the trash can. 😉 In other words, I managed to finish it! Read more
