Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette Review

Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette Review

I had to hold this post until they have the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette back in stock. Also I’m just going to take a minute and pray that it doesn’t get sold out by the time I do end up putting this up. A review has to be an honest opinion and in all honesty I love and adore this palette. It’s everything that I needed in a palette. Unlike their liquid lipsticks this palette nailed it with me with absolutely no qualms.
I know this has been a controversial palette with mixed reviews and criticism over packaging and price point. However let me explain why I love it and why I think perhaps it’s not everyone’s cup of tea at the same time.img_5497-1

Retailing at $65 this palette is a splurge. The packaging itself is a very basic plastic palette with a clear top. The Huda beauty signature eyes in a dual effect cardboard casing does come covering the palette. To be honest you’d expect a better packaging considering its price point and rightfully so. Also the cardboard casing is something that in practically terms won’t last and I really wish it was on the plastic casing top instead because it’s super pretty and I want to have it permanent and hassle free part of the packaging.img_6717

I love this palette. It has to be one perfect palette and has all the perfect colors I have been looking for lately. Since the day I got it I haven’t been able to put it down. The colors are so versatile and there’s so many looks that you can go for with it.
However having said that I can understand why this palette had mixed reviews and why some people don’t like it. I mean anything and everything is subject to tastes and preferences at the end of the day.
This is a very warm toned palette with some strong reds and pinks. Everytime I look at it i see it as a palette for someone who loves experimenting, uses very warm bright colors and someone who loves the shine and bling. So for anyone who’s more into very subtle or monotonous shades and looks this palette can be overwhelming.

There is 18 shades in the palette including 6 foiled, 2 frosted and 10 matte shades. It’s very hard to find a palette in which you like all the colors and use them all but this is one such palette for me.img_6714

The shadows are buttery enough and blends beautifully. They are highly pigmented and the color pay-off it amazing. I usually start with less and build up to my desired level.

The foiled shadows give best results when used with fingers and they are gorgeous. I love how the two frosted eyeshadows glow with a lovely sheen-like finish.

Honestly, I don’t have much else to say about this palette except that i love it and have made 101% use of it ever since I got it.It has made my eye makeup time shorter by just making like easier with all the incredible color palette they have. The shades are amazing with ‘desi’ clothes and more everyday high street fashion and caters to any kind of eye look you would want to go for; subtle or over-the-top or somewhere in between. img_6716

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte lipsticks Review

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte lipsticks Review

The Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks are one of those things that you really want in your makeup stash thanks to all that hype and gorgeous packaging. When I bought it I felt very compelled to like it. I mean what can I possibly not like from this pretty bottle of lip paint.

Liquid lipsticks are something I have been very recently experimenting on. I like the general basic formula for liquid lipsticks although for some reason I stayed away from them assuming I may not.img_6237-1

The Huda ones have a very limited color selection but whatever they have are the best shades out their I believe personally. So selecting the colors was a task and how. On a totally unrelated topic the lady in front of me at the counter billed Huda beauty products up to £500+ and given how lust-worthy they are I couldn’t really blame her.

The full collection consists of 16 shades. The full collection is for sale at $260 and each individual lipstick is sold at $20 on the Huda Beauty website and Sephora.

I narrowed in on 3 shades; ‘BOMBSHELL’, ‘GOSSIP GURL’ and ‘CHEERLEADER.

The packaging has a very personal signature ‘Huda Beauty’ touch to it with the lip design on the cardboard case. The tube itself has a tempered plastic like semi-opaqueness topped of with a matte black plastic lid. The lip applicator attached is doe-shaped unlike the more general long curvy applicator. This gives precision while application and that’s always a good thing.

Bombshell is a one of the most beautiful peachy nude I’ve seen. It’s a shade that is very versatile and will suit almost all skin tones. I feel like its got the right amount of brown, pink and peach mixed to create such an exotic shade. *I don’t know why I just called it exotic but you get my jibe right? 😉 *

Gossip Gurl is the quintessential pink. It’s girly, the right amount of pink and oozes femininity for the lack of a better word.

Cheerleader has to be the most exciting color of all. It’s a dark toned red. It looks amazing on the lips.img_6422

My favorite shade has to be ‘Cheerleader’ and my husband loves ‘bombshell’ on me and it’s such a beautiful nude to be honest. Gossip gurl although a lovely shade I just have so many lipsticks almost the same shade that I wish I got another shade instead. I wear it the least.

The formula feels really good, very opaque. With two good coats of the lipstick should give you a perfect coverage. Until the lipstick dries off the lips and settles tend to look a bit overpowering therefore I just let it dry up before I decide whether there’s too much or little on the lips.

As the product description says, it does dry matte and beautifully.

My lips are generally dry therefore I like to prime it beforehand to avoid cracks. The lipsticks are a bit drying awhile after application but that’s the case with most liquid lipsticks that I’m not sure if it’s me or them. *sigh*

However my only problem with these lipsticks is their staying power. I have tried all three at so many occasions in different ways but they just don’t stay put and that’s a huge turn-off for me. I like to be able to trust my lipstick to remain throughout whatever event I am at. I mean my lipstick always does, it never usually budge as I eat, drink and talk away. Although I have tried using them with my Huda beauty lip contours and various other lip liners it just doesn’t stay. I have even tried setting it with powder.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Do you like them? Are they on your must check out list?

The Time I Went Crazy At Sephora

The Time I Went Crazy At Sephora

So it was my first time shopping at Sephora and this happened…IMG_5946

No seriously, that happened. Like I had a huge cloud blocking the logically thinking part of my brain.

This is the final part of the Dubai Mall Haul Trilogy (Have you read the mac haul and the collective haul? )and the haul I have been very excited to share with you guys but I have to admit that one reason I have been putting it off for a while now is because of how embarrassed I am. I am a bit (ok, A LOT) of a shopaholic but I never just go crazy at stores. I mean I usually tend to be a bit more sorted or so I believe.

But then I went back home with all of these…

IMG_4300…and a broken bank account. *sigh*

I had made up my mind only to pick up products/brands that are not readily available online or the ones that require me to pay too much for shopping. I had a small (um…long) mental list of things I was looking to get which I was happy I could find most of except maybe like 2 products.

The makeup products I picked up were the following.IMG_43031. Too faced Natural Palette – This has to be my most favorite palette till date, so glad I picked it up. This was a total impulsive pick and it worked out pretty great. I am planning to do a review on it soon.

2. Two smashbox primers just because they are soo hard to find online. I also wanted to figure out which one would suit my skin better.

3. Nars Creamy Concealer- It has been talked about too much and I needed to find out for myself if it was all what it’s raved about as.

4.Chanel Vitalumere Aqua – If you guys have been following my posts for a while you would know that this has been my most wanted foundation since the beginning of this year and my shade never is available. surprisingly it was available this time so I got it.

5. I had tried out samples of all four of the UD primer potions and zeroed in on the original one to get a full size of. (check out my review on UD primer potion in Eden ).

6. Nars blush in Tribulation – It is gorgeous multi purpose champagne color that was also an impulse shop.

Skin Care & Beauty AccessoriesIMG_4307

7. Huda Lashes in Naomi – Am I glad I bought these or not! These are just soooooo gorgeous.

8. The Beauty blender pro because you know how much I love my beauty blender. My old one is so dirty and even has a tear.

9. A Sephora Kabuki brush.

10. Glamglow mud mask – I have heard such mixed reviews so I wanted to check it out before getting the full size.

11. Sephora Green Tea Mask which I am yet to use.

12. Sephora fan brush because you never know when you need a light hand.

13& 14. Sephora blending brush and a crease brush because you can never have too many.

15. Beauty blender mini

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in a comment below.

Hope your holidays are going great!
