The Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks are one of those things that you really want in your makeup stash thanks to all that hype and gorgeous packaging. When I bought it I felt very compelled to like it. I mean what can I possibly not like from this pretty bottle of lip paint.
Liquid lipsticks are something I have been very recently experimenting on. I like the general basic formula for liquid lipsticks although for some reason I stayed away from them assuming I may not.
The Huda ones have a very limited color selection but whatever they have are the best shades out their I believe personally. So selecting the colors was a task and how. On a totally unrelated topic the lady in front of me at the counter billed Huda beauty products up to £500+ and given how lust-worthy they are I couldn’t really blame her.
The full collection consists of 16 shades. The full collection is for sale at $260 and each individual lipstick is sold at $20 on the Huda Beauty website and Sephora.
I narrowed in on 3 shades; ‘BOMBSHELL’, ‘GOSSIP GURL’ and ‘CHEERLEADER.
The packaging has a very personal signature ‘Huda Beauty’ touch to it with the lip design on the cardboard case. The tube itself has a tempered plastic like semi-opaqueness topped of with a matte black plastic lid. The lip applicator attached is doe-shaped unlike the more general long curvy applicator. This gives precision while application and that’s always a good thing.
Bombshell is a one of the most beautiful peachy nude I’ve seen. It’s a shade that is very versatile and will suit almost all skin tones. I feel like its got the right amount of brown, pink and peach mixed to create such an exotic shade. *I don’t know why I just called it exotic but you get my jibe right? 😉 *
Gossip Gurl is the quintessential pink. It’s girly, the right amount of pink and oozes femininity for the lack of a better word.
Cheerleader has to be the most exciting color of all. It’s a dark toned red. It looks amazing on the lips.
My favorite shade has to be ‘Cheerleader’ and my husband loves ‘bombshell’ on me and it’s such a beautiful nude to be honest. Gossip gurl although a lovely shade I just have so many lipsticks almost the same shade that I wish I got another shade instead. I wear it the least.
The formula feels really good, very opaque. With two good coats of the lipstick should give you a perfect coverage. Until the lipstick dries off the lips and settles tend to look a bit overpowering therefore I just let it dry up before I decide whether there’s too much or little on the lips.
As the product description says, it does dry matte and beautifully.
My lips are generally dry therefore I like to prime it beforehand to avoid cracks. The lipsticks are a bit drying awhile after application but that’s the case with most liquid lipsticks that I’m not sure if it’s me or them. *sigh*
However my only problem with these lipsticks is their staying power. I have tried all three at so many occasions in different ways but they just don’t stay put and that’s a huge turn-off for me. I like to be able to trust my lipstick to remain throughout whatever event I am at. I mean my lipstick always does, it never usually budge as I eat, drink and talk away. Although I have tried using them with my Huda beauty lip contours and various other lip liners it just doesn’t stay. I have even tried setting it with powder.
Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Do you like them? Are they on your must check out list?

I really want to try some HB lippies which look great! But staying power is my biggest pet peeve on lip products! Ugh that is disappointing to read! 😦

They are beautiful shades and designs but I would think that with how pricey they are they would at least have a good staying power. That’s a shame.
