A Teeny-weeny Nyx and Makeup Geek Haul (Review & Swatches)

I always hear people raving about Nyx products on how good yet cheap it is. So I’ve been wanting to try it for a while now. So Surprise! surprise! I did a little online shopping. I’m not entirely thrilled about this haul but yeah let me just get into it and tell you all about it.

These are the 3 things I got:

I really love the color of both the lipsticks. This lip shade is too light for my skin tone but I picked this shade only so I can mix it with some of the other lipsticks I have. Also I have a slight upper lip pigmentation, I wanted to use this to neutralize that. However as much as I love the color and how pigmented it is, I hate its creaminess. Its my bad that I expected it to be not creamy while the product is described as a lip cream. Not being able to try out products before buying them is a one huge downside of online shopping. 😦

Nyx Round Lipstick in Paris

This again is a beautiful and versatile pink shade that suits most skin tones.  The packaging is nothing great and is made of cheap plastic but as much as I don’t like it I can’t really complain for $4.75. Again my biggest turn off was how creamy this lipstick too is. The creaminess is just ugh, I mean if I wanted my lipstick to feel THAT slippery I’d rather wear lip gloss (which I very rarely wear just because of how creamy it feels) :/ .

This eyeshadow is the only saving grace of this haul. Makeup Geek eyeshadow pans have never failed to surprise me. If you’ve been following my posts you must have already known how much I love the color blue and that it is my favorite color ever! This eyeshadow in the color “Poolside” (so aptly named) is a dream. It is such a beautiful blue with a tint of gold dusted in, look at (above picture)how gorgeous it is on the skin. Like the other Makeup Geek eyeshadows’, this one is pigmented, smooth and blends well.

  1. I’m sorry your haul was disappointing. Usually NYX products are pretty good for the price. Personally, I like the lip butters, but they are lip gloss. I’ve never tried makeup geek eye shadow. I have a few of their brushes that I love!

    1. I’ve not tried those three colors but I’ve been wanting to get cocoa bear since I’ve heard so many bloggers talk about it. I wanna try their foiled eyeshadows too. Urgh I want them all! 😉 I haven’t tried the Nyx matte lip creams however “dry matte” sounds good.
